The Release
For me (Chris) "exam" day was finally here. It was a triple whammy, back to back I had to make a presentation of a project with Q&A afterwards, a 1 hour competency based interview examining me putting into practice what I'd learnt and finally an exam. I was done just after lunch, relieved but if I'm honest, without too much idea of how I've done. The exam was hard, the interview and presentation seemed well received. I will get the results in a couple of weeks.
We had a call late afternoon from the local wildlife hospital to come and pick up 14 young ducks that needed to be released after being reared at the centre. Having collected them, we drove to Watermead with a backseat full of ducks in crates quacking away. Down at the waters edge they were happy to jump into the water. We watched them as a group for a while finding their bearings in the new place, probably the biggest bit of water they've seen in their lives. By the time I took the blip, they had blended into the vast numbers of birds!
