Nearly There

My younger son is sitting Higher English on Friday. He hates this text with a passion, as does his older brother who has been through the same agony.

Why can't pupils get the chance to study literature that they will enjoy rather than endure? More of a choice would be nice. I also find it interesting that any pupil from the Aberdeen area that I have spoken to has never read, nor even heard of this author or book.

It was apparently voted Best Scottish Book of All Time by the Public in 2005.

I'll be glad when Friday is past, and he can concentrate on his science subjects.
