Antwerp, Belgium

We caught a train from Amsterdam early this morning to Antwerp. The Mistress was really nervous at the start as this is the first time she's travelled on her own in Europe without her daughter as guide. It meant changing trains, and catching trams and finding the hotel.

She managed just fine :)

After dropping luggage at hotel, we were off to explore. Much time was spent exploring the Chocolate Shops, however we did get to look at other major attractions such as the City Hall, the Main Square, the Cathedral, and a brand new museum which was architecturally amazing.

We went up 10 floors by escalators, then out on a viewing area that gave views over the whole of Antwerp. Worth seeing - it's only just opened.

After walking all over town it was back to central Statin and to the Antwerp Zoo which is just next to the stations. Quite a good zoo although some of the animals are still in small cages.

Dinner consisted of two bread rolls and 'butter', which The mistress found that it was yeast, not butter! Didn't realise tht until we got back to the hotel.

Another busy day tomorrow. Luxembourg. Foot very sore
