How Omicron is so contagious

You don't test positive with a lateral flow test until you've already been contagious for a few days. The vaccine seems to have little effect on this relatively mild strain.

Orla had a positive lateral flow test yesterday and the results of her PCR test we got today were also positive. So we can't go to Yorkshire for a festive gathering of friends that has been planned for ages. We have to stay at home and self isolate for 10 days. Gutted.

Orla must have caught it at her musical theatre class.
