Ready for Examination

Preparing the boiler and fittings of steam loco 'NCB Ayrshire Area No 10' so that the insurer's engineering surveyor could undertake a 'cold' examination which was carried out today. Once all the fittings have been reconnected to the boiler, a further examination is required to be carried out by the surveyor with the boiler in steam, so the team will be busy for the next few weeks to enable steam to return again to the Doon Valley Railway.
