Posh Nosh

I thought the day was going to be wet, but it turned out dry and sunny at times, and not cold at all.

We ventured into the city for the first time in a long while and I was glad to see that Wellington is still wearing his traffic cone, and there was a customary gull on the horse's head.  For anyone wondering, it's a Glasgow thing......

We took the bus into town, and we rather enjoyed the ride as it goes through the area where I was born in the city.  They knocked the building down though.  Can't think why they didn't put up a plaque......

We had lunch at the Anchor Line rooms on St. Vincent Street;  This was the headquarters of the Anchor Line in times gone by and they have retained a lot of the features, all dark wood walls and lots of brass, very dignified.  The food is rather posh, and rather expensive, but we had been given a gift voucher and so we could indulge to our hearts' content.  Thanks Andrew and Katie, much appreciated.

We got talking to an American couple at the next table to us.  They were from North Carolina and as we have visited the Outer Banks we had quite a lot to talk about.  Thankfully, they were loving Scotland and had seen a lot, and were enjoying Glasgow very much, having done the Charles Rennie Macintosh tour.  It si good to talk to people, and we were able to give them some information that they had wanted.  They had found Glasgow people to be very friendly, I was so pleased about that.

We decided to make a day of it, and paid a visit to the cinema to see 'Elvis'.  Very impressive, well filmed, although I would have loved to hear more of his songs as I am an Elvis fan.

I uploaded some extras too.
