Vested In West One, London

I know this part of London (W1) like the back of my hand as I've worked there for decades. What I have noticed in the area is the sheer amount of ugly/boring/out of scale new building that has gone on recently in this postcode of London. This is but one example which features a favourite of developers - big rectangular and/or square windows outlined in black. I'm presuming it's supposed to be a "statement" but they have ended up all copying each other to produce endless variations of the same thing. Even so, I imagine the rental costs for these new wonders is astronomical.
In other news, it really does look like the fifth wave of Covid is well and truly up and running if my workplace is anything to go by. We've had six people test positive in the last two weeks alone. Not good, even more so as there are no free tests any more and very few people are wearing masks.
