Machair
After today’s mountain, I went down to the shoreline to photograph in the evening light. With only shorebirds and a herd of deer for company, it was truly beautiful.
Machair is a rare fertile grassy plain, found only in patches on the west coast, (also in Scandinavia) and most often in the Outer Hebrides. When bursting with wildflowers it is really wonderful.
