Lafayette Cemetery - Garden District, New Orleans

Over 100,000 buried in two square blocks. After 300 years still an active cemetery. Went on a private tour with a retired teacher who had lots of stories to tell. I found out where the expression, 'Getting the Shaft' originated. It may be too gruesome to share and not sure if it is true or just folk lore!
