Scientists at work!

Today Violet was rather under the weather and as she was having a blood test early afternoon, she spent the morning with us  rather than at school.  To make the morning more educational we started one of the experiments from the science set that we bought her for her birthday.  The result of today's experiment was 'snow' with which she made a snowman.  This pic shows the careful prep stage where she's adding hair conditioner to bicarbonate of soda.
We had hoped to photograph her next to her rapidly growing sunflower, brought home from Brownies as a seedling a few weeks ago, but the rain put paid to that.

In other news:  Andy Murray was beaten in the second round at Wimbledon by John Isner this evening.  We were sorry to see Andy go but Mr Isner's winner's speech was so gracious that we couldn't begrudge him his win.
