No stopping me

Well this move didn't keep Stuart from getting to the ball, but it ended up feeling as if it was all in vain as the Royals lost the cup final on a warm spring evening.

I did have another picture of my own fine lad but since he was featured on Sunday I went for this action shot.

Two smooth goals for the Royals set the tone for the first half... but things changed in the second half and in a repeat of Sunday, the opposition scored their first goal from a penalty. There was some gamesmanship in the rolling on/off substitutions as the opposition tried to keep the clock from stopping ... 8 minutes added due to a constant stream of substitutions (approaching 20!) and the tactic paid off as they finally gained an equaliser.

Extra time was painful and brief -- 5 minutes each way to ensure that the lights could be turned off at 10pm -- no time to equalise from the goal given up in the first few minutes ... and suddenly it was over.

Cup Final score was 3-2 against and we stayed for the Cup Final presentation.
