'Valentine' sunflower

And finally the first sunflowers are flowering.

It's not been my best year for sweet peas and sunflowers, so much slug damage and so much starting again... The plants are all at different stages of growth and I've been putting off planting the last three because I'm worried they'll get eaten or damaged by something and it's now too late to start again!

But this one is doing great. It's a multistem cultivar with beige flowers called 'Valentine' - for some reason, I always call it 'Sweet Valentine'!

I'll be looking forward to the next ones to flower now.
