A Meandering Life...

Tearoom Hunting

I have decided to find a new tearoom each week and my 'google map' pin dropped onto The Mustard Tree Cafe in Hurworth-on-Tees today. It is set in an old chapel and is run as a 'not for profit' community centre, part of the Dementia Action Alliance. The atmosphere was lovely, spacious and friendly. They served excellent coffee and homemade scones. A great find.

In extras I have added our local 'relief' bridge on the northern edge of Northallerton. It is to allow lorries etc to bypass the train crossing at the northern end of the High Street. It was part of the redevelopment of the area, hundreds of new homes were built each side of the bridge. It has been many years in the making and well behind schedule. Needless to say the new home owners now don't want lorries using it or should I say going past their homes. The biggest issue may be the width of the road and pathway is not that generous and delays may now be due to the H&S of pedestrians when lorries pass. It has been 'ready' for a week or so. Either it hasn't passed the safety checks or some big wig needs to open it.
