During the Second World War, the BBC relocated its radio broadcasting operation from Broadcasting House in Central London to a collection of venues in Bedford. Not wishing to attract the attentions of the Luftwaffe to Bedford, the new location of BBC radio broadcasting was described only as “somewhere in England”.
Today I took all my little houseplants by bus from “somewhere in England” to a village down the road where they will be cared for while I am abroad in continental Europe.
The first thing I did on my return was to pop into the perfect pub to check in case there were any important incoming emails, yes there were, Eurostar has chosen to change my seat on the train.
The second thing I did was return to my flat and witness how sad it looks without any houseplants.
