Happy 90th Aunty

The ABC celebrated its 90th birthday yesterday. We watched some of the celebratory broadcasts and they brought home how essential the national broadcaster is and what a great job ‘Aunty’ does. I hope the new government gets the message.

(It’s named ‘Aunty’ of course in the tradition of the BBC, on which our Aunty was modelled back in 1932. The founders probably didn’t appreciate just how important the role of aunties is for First Nation people.)
