Early morning start as it was announced last night ship would be docking an hour early so I was up at back of 5 British time. Great road from Bilbao to France but I took it slowly to start with until I got used to driving on the right. Not sure what possessed me to book such an out of the way place to stay. It’s down a single track and even with Google maps it took me ages to find. But the German couple who run it were most welcoming and booked me a lovely restaurant down at the port where diners could watch the barges go by. It was run by a charming English lady and her husband and food was excellent.
However I got totally lost on way back and did many extra kilometres. So I’m having an early night and looking forward to meeting Rachel, Steve and boys tomorrow.
