Horse Nettle

I have a mixed relationship with this wildflower/weed. I have to acknowledge that the flowers themselves are fairly attractive. But the plant is prickly, and pops up all over the place. And apparently - I just learned - the fruit it produces is very poisonous. So there we are: Horse nettle. I tend to pull it out of my flowerbeds - if you grip it right down at the bottom of the stem where it comes out of the ground it isn't prickly. If you accidentally grab a plant with a handful of other weeds - OUCH!
