Ready for the Garden Party
The day began with Becky, Tony, Euan and I walking down in to Oxford. Tony and I were going to run the Parkrun in University Parks and Euan said he wanted to run too. So Becky and I ran with him and he managed about half a mile before he was in to the stroller and I pushed him round the remainder of the course with some help from his Mummy and then Grandad when he had finished. We had a fun time saying well done to the passing runners and waving at the Marshalls.
Afterwards we walked to our favourite café and waited until Rob arrived and then took the long way back in the hope that Euan might nap and be ready for the Garden Party in the afternoon.
Unfortunately the showers began after lunch when we headed back in to town and saw off the family in to Wadham College for their Benefactors party. Thankfully there was a marquee (and a bouncy castle!) Tony and I looked in Blackwells and Waterstones for books but they were both very busy with folks taking refuge from the weather so we didn't stay long and, after a cuppa, walked back to the house and started preparing dinner.
I had brought Euan a magic painting book with which he was absorbed for some time.
