Welcome

This view is one of the main entrances to Manchester City Centre. I think it is picturesque if not the modern image they are mostly successful at portraying.

Someone asked me yesterday whether I ever go for a walk without a camera. I realised that I never do. As a result, I spend time looking for subjects and photographing them then looking closely at the scene later rather than experiencing the reality in the moment, as it were. An interesting thought. So, I have decided, occasionally, to walk without a camera and to enjoy the different experience. I did so yesterday. It felt strange to begin with but then became enjoyable. I will do it again.
