Working hard on a glum day.
Slow day today. A few household chores and then cricket, F1 and probably tennis to watch later. A bit of pulling up weeds in the garden and a few pictures.
A little and as yet unreported drama on late on Friday evening - Dad's electric riser chair went bang and stopped working. He was stuck in it and unable to stand on his own. A few phone calls and my sister (who alone couldn't help him safely) managed to get carers back out out to help him so preventing a 120+ mile round trip for me to assist him. Fortunately and luckily, both mum and dad have electric riser chairs in both downstairs rooms, so, my brother-in-law went after he finished work late Friday night to swap them over so mum and dad can continue using their favourite room. The cause? It seems the casing for the motor failed and broke. Will be three or four days before a replacement motor can be obtained and installed.
The moral of the story, such that there is one, is, where possible, to have two bits of critical support equipment for elderly people living at home.
