The Highland Cross charity biathlon returns after a two year gap, due to COVID-19. Three year gap for me, as I'd no (suitable) transport to get there with a load of gear in 2019. Lots of new faces and familiar faces in the participants and support teams.
Cool and very windy day, with frequent showers.At least one hat talking to the air from folk crossing the Athnamulloch bridge at mile fifteen of the twenty mile walk/run stage. The owner decide against retrieving it... from river, which was at a high level due to heavy rain overnight and on previous days.
Decidedly out of practice, and my first attempt to seriously suss out how the Nikon Z6's tracking autofocus works meant too many missed shots, alas, perhaps should have taken the old faithful D700, or another DSLR, at least I know how tracking works with them. My own fault, but things have been somewhat manic of late, with little time to spend here. Loads of back-Blipping to be sorted out.
Some extras:
- young; and
- old participants;
- flying along;
- jumping for joy, or the camera; and
- a less fortunate requirement to fly for one casualty.
(A vast number of other photos from the day are, here.)
