It had to be a selfie!

Helen and I met about 12 years ago when she was leading a walking holiday in Yagodina in Bulgaria and I was one of the walkers.

We have been good friends since then and I’ve been away on other walking holidays with her. In September we will be in the Scillies and in October in the Lake District.

She in en route for Swaledale and flew from Newquay to Newcastle today. Julie very kindly went to meet Helen and brought her to Humshaugh for lunch.

Julie was then off to a concert in Newcastle and Helen and I went for a walk around the village and fields.

I can’t tell you how good it was to see her again.
