Lindi
Today felt like a breakthrough on relationships and a successful day on the work front with an important deliverable completed, albeit way after the COB deadline that was requested.
We drove to Lindi on the coast, which is a regional centre and home to some government bods we needed to have an introductory meeting with. Lindi also has a quiet and very stunning beach which we sat next to for five minutes after completing our appointments.
A vervet monkey was playing in the road somewhere between Lindi and Mtwara, another regional capital in the far south-eastern corner of Tanzania, and our final stop on this three-week long landscape orientation. Mtwara is completely safe but is close to the zones of northern Mozambique that have been dealing with a violent insurgency since 2017.
