At the end of the day
Today was a hot one - mid thirties at least. It was an at-home-chores and poolside day, that ended with a most enjoyable evening at Paşa restaurant in Akbuk with Robin, Graham and Kat. A tasty meal and regular Sunday night live entertainment from a couple called 'the Bees' who cover all the everyone-knows-sing along songs such as Country Roads, Suspicious Minds, High ho silver lining, etc all making a fab fun 'holiday' kind of night with friends and food on the sea front - although it has to be said that with the chronic Turkish lira inflation this year, they've hiked up their prices yet again, and dinner tonight, in lira, was twice, even three times as much as it would have been last summer. Whilst the exchange rate means that foreign currency tourists aren't really affected as restaurants take advantage of post pandemic holiday makers, for those of us who live here, eating out at the seafront is rapidly becoming a bit of a luxury.
The scene in today's photo caught my eye, with the strange colours from the street/moonlight as the last of the sun disappeared on this super warm night, where even as we went home it was still 32ºC.
