Petunias

Our last morning in Edinburgh. Kat was at work today so we packed up the caravan ready, then and went out to Pentland Plants, a garden centre on the outskirts of Edinburgh.

This is the place that grows 50,000 poinsettias from cuttings then sells them on to garden centres all over the UK in time for Christmas. It was one of the family that read about poinsettias in an American journal and had some plants sent over here in the early 60s. They already have the cuttings in their greenhouses now to start growing this year's batch.

Later in the year they have a Guided Poinsettia Walk, free to loyalty card holders. That would be a sight to see!

At the moment they have interesting petunias for sale (and excellent cheese scones).
