Tense as a bow string

Today I went to a terrific concert, Schubert's Cello Quintet. In addition to the two cellists pictured, there were two violinists and a viola player. If it weren't for the tension in those strings there would have been no concert.

There is also a lot of tension in a delivery room. I was with our daughter today prior to her baby being born. It was full on. When they wheeled them both back to us post delivery, a lot of the tension had disippated. Mum and bub doing well.
