Modern Concordia

I bought my daily newspaper in a shop that doubled as a book seller. My eye was caught by a book with photos of old Les Corts, Barcelona which included one of Plaza Concordia, above, about a hundred years ago. A tram line came down the street you see to the right of the church, curved round in front of it and departed up the street to the left. Cars circulated, with a few parked, around the cobbled roads that ran round the boundaries of the plaza’s rectangle and, even if the photo had been in colour, I can bet the eye-catch fluorescent pink that you see did not enter into the palette of the day!
