Girls best friend
Today was my 2nd 50th birthday day and I’ve not stopped smiling all day!
I booked the Lincoln trip back in November and it was Mr A’s suggestion to add on a day so that I could visit the Tiffany exhibition at the Saatchi gallery.
Work I planned out the rota very kindly agreed to me taking the day off.
One of my bucket list things has been to have breakfast at Tiffany’s, so as soon as I knew we were London bound, I set about booking us a table at The Blue Box cafe in Harrods. Despite it being a Monday, they had no availability, so I booked afternoon tea which was better than nothing and I could still say I’d been.
I’ve phoned a couple of times to see if there had been any cancellations, but there weren’t.
Me being me, I’d done my research, so knew that on the 2nd of every month, they release the next batch of bookings.
It was worth checking on Saturday morning because lo and behold…..they had a table for breakfast! I was straight on the phone to snap it up. I’ve been fizzing with excitement ever since.
The whole experience was fabulous; the food was amazing and Mr A refused to let me pay.
The exhibition at the Saatchi (free via the Tiffany app) is definitely worth a visit, to follow the story of the brand and see some spectacular pieces of jewellery. There’s a section dedicated to the movie and also an AR feature which lets you ‘wear’ the famous, Tiffany diamond necklace.
I remembered to bring my birthday vouchers from work with me, so once we’d finished in the exhibition, we visited the flagship Tiffany store on Old Bond Street.
I’d already decided what I wanted (earrings to match the heart pendant I got in New York), but I was offered champagne while I browsed, so I took my time.
It’s been a truly fantastic weekend and Tiffany obsession aside, girls best friend for me has to be my amazing Mr A :-)
It had to be a collage for today as there are just too many highlights. I’ve added in the Harrods blue lights from yesterday too.
