Starbursts

Dandelion clocks are often photographed but cat's ear seedheads less so. I like how it is a bit messy-looking and has retained a little of the yellow of the flower. 

I thought I'd photographed a water boatman but it's a backswimmer. These predators swim on their backs ready to catch tadpoles or small fish. They can bite humans.
