Scottish bulldog - and Everest

Today I attended a seminar on information sharing in public services. It was held at the National Museum of Scotland. The break-out area was dominated by this prototype Bulldog aircraft. - the first to be built in Scotland. It was flown by the 15th Duke of Hamilton who was a test pilot for Scottish Aviation Ltd. That company had been founded in 1935 by, amongst others, his father the 14th Duke, the one who met Hess when he arrived in Britain during the war.

The 14 th Duke and co-founder David McIntyre were famous for being the first to fly over Everest in 1933. Having heard about the celebrations to mark the anniversary of the Everest flight just the other week it was interesting to have this link today.
