Ottawacker Jr. almost back to normal, so while he went out to get sunburned at his uncle's pool, I stayed home to wait for Reliance Heating, who had scheduled a visit between 10 and 2 to replace our hot water tank. A glorious day - and mightily pissed off I was as I called at 2.30 to find out where they were...

Anyway, the man in the van turned up eventually and was apologetic. Nothing diffuses anger more quickly than someone taking responsibility for an issue, so I offered him some coffee and let him get on with his job. Which he did. Very efficiently.
