The Perfect Excuse...

... for not cutting the grass!

My garden is at its very best over the next month or so.
Being in woodland, by the time the trees are in full leaf, the best of the colour is over.

For the past few years I have left this section of lawn unmown until July or August and the change in the number of plant species has been remarkable.

The primroses, cowslips and bluebells (not yet in bloom) in particular have multiplied and spread.

People walking along the footpath that borders it often stop and stare.

And, of course, it is now the perfect excuse for not mowing it!

P.S. I didn't even realise until just now, that once again the dog has got in on the act!!
