Above and Below

This is one of a number of art works in Uphall and Broxburn about the shale mining industry. This one is called Above and Below by Michael Johnson and is just in Uphall on the main road before you enter Broxburn going east. The statue is of some of the first plants that recolonised the old Bings in the area, Rosebay Willow Herb, Wild Garlic and Hawthorn.
