Bubbles
These bubbles in Rafi's feed bottle caught my eye today. Rafi's food regime has been continually changing over the past 2 weeks, less feed in the day, continuous overnight, more food in the day, none overnight, less in the day, more water, less water, overnight water!! Can't wait until he just eats at meal times!!
The speech therapist came to see him today to look at his swallowing. Which has improved a great deal recently, although he does still cough occasionally. While she was here Rafi sucked a few mouth sponges soaked with squash. He managed quite well, but she thinks he is still 'pooling' a little at the back of his mouth. Apparently the end part of a swallow is controlled by a different cranial nerve? Anyway the plan is that he will have an x-ray to look at his swallow and see what needs to be done to improve it. If he is swallowing ok, he'll be able to start on puréed food.........I so hope he is.
His foot was hurting today, so he's had his casts taken off a day early and is now wearing his snazzy new blue splints. I thought he'd chosen red, but the orthotist said he had blue written down, and Rafi informed me that was was he'd chosen!
