Camera Shy

My photography today was cut short by a bee sting!  I don't think I have had one since childhood when I had not only a bee sting but also was stung by a wasp on the same day!  I remember lots of panickly administered home remedies from my childhood friend's Mum before being packed off home wondering what all the fuss was because nothing seemed to happen - no pain,  no swelling...just nothing,  except adults panicking!
Not so today...it was very painful - felt like my whole foot was on fire.  I drove home immediately from the allotments feeling quite queasy and dizzy.  Soaked my foot in cold water and then put some neat Tea Tree essential oil on it. The pain gradually calmed down and nothing else happened so I presume that was the correct thing to do.  Eventually Googled it so that I will know what to do another time..  Apparently removing the sting as quickly as possible is essential as it continues pumping the venom.  Still not sure it was a bee as I did not see it but was just aware of the pain  - must have scooped it into the front of my sandal as I was walking through grass - wasn't aware of squashing anything either.  When I looked at the sole of my foot there was what looked like a thorn sticking out which I removed but the pain and queasiness was way beyond what you would normally experience from getting a small thorn in your foot.
When it happened I was chatting to the owner of this adorable Jack Russell terrier,  Molly,  who is the same age as Ginny.  She is a disaster area and has just spent her third time in Veterinary hospital,  this time for 5 days, following an operation that revealed no known reason for her sickness, diarrhoea and near death probably from eating something very unpleasant.  Previous incident involved emergency treatment after stealing and eating painkillers after the owner turned her back on her to get a glass of water and I've forgotten what the first incident was but was also touch and go.  I thought Ginny was naughty but she has been an angel beside this little monster.  Couldn't resist taking this photo - see Extra - but I was already suffering with my foot and had my old Pentax lens on my camera.  Will try for another shot another day - she is a rough coated Jack and has a great look with just a patch over one eye.
