Graptolite

We went to the Geology Museum after the Lunchtime Concert today, and we managed to find the Ordovician section and the graptolites! These lines on the shale were formed from floating organisms in the sea about 500 million years ago, and we had been searching the beaches in South Wales for them when we were on holiday last week! Only one member of our group found one - but it looked just like this!!
