Now, as I see it......

Back to the beach today.  We decided to get the taxi boat over rather than walk; I've added an extra of the taxi boat leaving the beach later.  We still have a mile or so to walk downhill from the accommodation to Pedi bay to pick up the taxi boat, and this is one of the ruins that we pass on the way.  Part of the reason there are so many is that when the population dispersed back in the early 20th century, mainly to America and Australia, the houses were just left but are still nominally owned by the original families.  There is a good chance that after several generations have passed, the current 'owners' don't even know they exist.  Nonetheless, over the last 30 or so years many of them have been renovated and made into lovely houses again.

Many thanks for all the comments, hearts and stars recently and apologies for not looking at blips while we are on holiday.  There just aren't enough hours in the day!
