Sweetcorn tassel

My sweetcorn plants are all looking pretty impressive but an allotment friend warned me that squirrels go for them so I'll have to watch out when they look nearly ready. 

However, as I've never grown them before, I'm not too sure what 'nearly ready' looks like!
