Our friend’s garden.
I popped up the road this morning to see our friends. The hubby had had a knee replacement several weeks back. He’s doing really well. Stephen joined us after he’d been to the gym.
They were going to the hospital for a check up late morning. R was driving obviously, until her husband can do so once more.
The sun came out this afternoon, so I’ve been in the garden, having been glued to the news before and after lunch as it’s been a non-stop, whizzbang avalanche coming out of Westminster since a whole host of resignations began to hit the headlines yesterday.
It did result in BoJo resigning this morning but blaming the Westminster herd mentality and crowing about how much he had achieved!
A kind of non acceptance of the part he played in how he got to this point.
Now there is another ongoing debate, as he says he will stay on till October when it will be the Party Conference.
Lots of other incumbents of Westminster incensed about this……
So there’s still a question mark over his ether leaving immediately, or being allowed to stay on another 3 months!
Typical mess.
In the meantime not long after I’d finished trimming a small hedge, and doing some desultory weeding in the borders, our back gate opened and another friend popped in.
He’d brought some fresh raspberries from his allotment.
We sat at the patio table having a chat for a short time, as Stephen was out this afternoon in his rôle as Bereavement Counsellor.
Then our friend went off to the cricket at Edgbaston. It’s a T20 match this evening and the weather is just perfect for once!
