The lily beetle
These little critters are the bane of my life. I love growing big tubs of lilies and these beetles can strip the plants in a matter of hours. Luckily they are easy to spot. They lay their eggs in a sac of black sticky goo which are quite difficult to remove.
I also have some Hemerocallis which they quite like but I think they were after my Fritillary which I have discovered with the aid of google just now are of the lily family - as are tulips and onions. You learn something new every day!
I have spent the day gardening and I have come to the conclusion that a drainage pipe has sprung a leak as there is a patch of border that is really wet when the rest is bone dry. Shall I just make it a bog garden?
