A Glimpse Of A Gatekeeper ...
... it must be high summer. I spotted my first of 2022 flitting along a hazel hedge which has a good crop of nuts. These butterflies don't appear until early July and are gone by the end of August. They get their name because they are found along field margins and in gateways.
Ollie dog and I went to Hoddesdon this morning. It was lovely to hear a guitarist playing and singing sweetly. The White Swan pub has a sign outside saying Hoddesdon's Secret Garden. It certainly has a wonderful display of flowers and I photographed a petunia which has protruded through the fence from the garden at the back.
