Green is the colour

Quite a day.

My sister and brother in law called in very early after having dropped off their eldest at Manchester airport and then gone for a big breakfast at a pretty smart place nearby. We had coffees sat in the back garden and distanced. This evening we got a message that BiL has tested positive for Covid, which is a timely reminder that we need to keep on doing what we’re doing.

We’ve been keeping in touch with events in London, and watched Boris Johnson’s resignation speech live. Although he never used the R word, and I half think he’s manoeuvring to find a way of hanging on . It’s the lying, duplicity, corruption and general trashing of public standards which I can’t abide. I can understand his appeal, although it never worked for me, but the damage he’s done is immense. And goodness knows what is going to happen next, I’m not impressed with any of the likely leadership candidates. We live in mad times,.

So the blip to end today is a calming green.
