The building that was under wraps in March is nearly ready to be unveiled. Formerly a Woolworths store, and then a Poundland, It will house the combined surgeries of Locking Hill and Stroud Valleys Family Practice. They are part of Severn Vale and Berkeley primary care network. I work for the other primary care network, Stroud Cotswold PCN.
Shall I tell you about my day?
Loaded the car with smelly garden waste. Steve went to the tip, and then to Gloucester for an eye test.
I went to the bank. They tried to give me £200 in £5 notes, instead of the £20 I'd asked for. I pointed out gently (I hope) that I only needed four notes.
Met friend D. off the train. We walked around Stroud incredibly slowly in circles. Had coffee, lunch and more coffee in different places. D bought fresh fish. Ordering a book for him turned out to be massively complicated.
Walked home after seeing D. off. Helped load the car, set up stall at the market.
Went to 'Spoons pub The Lord John to meet friend J and have fish and chips, second time this week for this food.
Went to Buddhist meditation. Discovered that the Secretary is a guy I was once in a play with, let's call him 'Bob the fascist' because he played a fascist. He is quite Buddha-like when not playing the fascist role.
Came home all mellow, and looked at emails. Discovered that almost every serving officer in the WEA (Workers' Educational Authority) in England has resigned.
Oh, and the Prime Minister of the UK resigned too, because he was finally pushed out. It's not clear to anyone when he'll actually go, or what will happen next.
Mask wearing is being reintroduced into some GP surgeries' public areas, as CoVid Omicron BA5 goes storm-trooping up the charts.
