The Deer Hunter
A family birthday today but also that of virtuoso classical guitarist John Williams - 71 today. He didn't write Cavatina but he did make this special arangement of it for the theme to the Deerhunter. Here you see the mystery hand playing the opening arpeggio to the piece. It's just a humble E major arpeggio but tricky because of the position and the need for the high B on the top string (the thin one). It may not look it but this is a fiendishly difficult piece that I can only muddle through at the best of times. I've had this sheet for over 30 years and N.B point E still makes me chuckle. It's basically saying that bits of this piece aren't actually possible - but that's what you're aiming for. As for the photo, well, not technically great but, I researched it, I planned it, I set it up, I took it. And it's my challenge. So it's in.
