Flax Triptych
The allotment site is always coming up with something interesting. Today I spotted a square bed planted with this delicate pale blue flower swaying in a curtain of green stems. I couldn't do it justice photographically as a whole because of the background distractions of allotment paraphernalia. Still playing with my old Pentax lens which suited getting in close and trying to get some nice background bokeh which I think has been successful in relaying the feeling. My first thought was chicory flowers but they were too delicate and the stems too long and fine. Next thought was flax which I've never seen planted before. The plot owners were over in one corner and so I called out to ask if I could photograph and checked if I was correct about flax which they confirmed. She is going to attempt to go through the process to make a piece of linen! Good luck with that I thought but fun to experiment.
Have ordered an adaptor because I think I'll make some use of this lens especially as I haven't had to buy it as it was on my old film Pentax K1000. Always nice to get that feeling of "something for nothing".
