Resting.....
It was quite a dull morning with bits of drizzle! I wasn't hoping for much in the way of insect life but was pleased to find this caterpillar. it gives nothing away about the butterfly it will become (if it doesn't get eaten). But with those spikes that seems unlikely. It's actually a Peacock butterfly caterpillar.
We went to our local theatre - The New Vic Theatre in Newcastle-under-Lyme - this evening. We saw atruly amazing play - Tom, Dick and Harry. Some folks will understand what these names mean. It was based on the true story behind the escape from the infamous Stalag Luft III prisoner of war camp. Tom, Dick and Harry are the names of the three escape tunnels.
It's theatre in the round, with fantastic acting, great stage direction and superb and ingenious use of minimal props. They got a well deserved standing ovation at the end. The play is due to transfer to the Alexander Palace in London soon. If you get the chance I'd highly recommend it.
