Cooling-off Period

It was a very hot day, I think it got up to around 27 degrees centigrade.  H and I did a wonderful walk along the Rive Bure.  Such a pretty river and absolutely buzzing with banded demoiselles.  These cows found a handy way to cool off.  However, when we came to a stile further along the river there was a number of cows accompanied by their calves.  They were blocking the path and I definitely detected a look of defiance in their eyes. They were clearly not going to move, so we left them alone and retreated to a shady tree to have some lunch before the walk back.
