Black Friday!
It was inevitable that the day would come when a police car would park on the drive and a police officer would approach asking if I could confirm who I am.
Long story short, someone nicked The Boy’s car off our drive overnight. Luckily (?) the thief was known to the police and apprehended before any greater incident occurred. But not before The Boy’s car had a return to trip to Liskeard. Every cloud and all that, it was almost empty and now has half a tank of petrol. Sadly they didn’t fix the failing clutch…
The worst part of this tale is that The Boy walked past the empty space this morning and didn’t notice on his way to work (in my car because of clutch ^^^). Mr Roly walked past the empty space while popping out this morning and my desk faces the empty space…. But none of us knew until the Police arrived at midday. Nil points for observation skills!
Anyway, the car is collected and seems ok. Nothing taken, in fact The Boy has gained a bag of half eaten peanuts, an almost full bottle of coke, an empty gin miniature and an unopened gin miniature as well as the petrol. I don’t think he’s keeping any of it though (except the petrol).
As if the day wasn’t already going badly,, Stella the cat became worryingly poorly. Also a trip to the vet and blood tests, injections and all sorts followed. Hopefully she ‘just’ has an infection so the long acting antibiotics should knock that on the head.
I took advantage of the wait for it all to be done to order a ring doorbell and a CCTV camera to go on the garage…
Finally we settled for a BBQ and let the chickens out - the pair above headed straight to my tiny pond and climbed in. I can’t blame them. My original plan for this day involved a beach and a swim after school.
