Of Sand
I had an errand to Kalmar today, picking up two of my guitars that had been fixed by the excellent Scott at "Kalmar Rocks" music shop, but also to to meet up with Dave, an old friend of mine, for a coffee and a stroll around the Sand-sculptures in the park. This is the final day, when the winner will be appointed.
The pandemic changed the game for the Sand-sculpture contest in Kalmar park for two years. Last year there was only a few sculptures, scattered over a huge area in town. This year the contest was back in full swing, all in one place, by the beach as "usual". The artists are *so* skilful.
Seven teams from all over Europe had enrolled. Sweden (two teams), Holland, Ukraine, Germany, Latvia and Norway. The teams has total freedom to create what they want but nearly all of the contestants had some connection to the Ukraine. The winning team was Holland (main) with their "Close, yet so far apart". The extra is the work of the Ukrainian team, "Broken dreams". Here's a link to the contests Facebookpage.
