What’s wrong with this picture?

After a reasonable but very short sleep, it was time to get up to be on the shuttle back to the airport at 5.30. Mr PHL had a bad night as he started feeling like he had stomach flu as we went to bed last night and felt even worse this morning. He managed to get through security and sitting down at the gate but was worried that he wouldn’t make it through the flight. I managed to find Imodium at a newsstand and he managed some water but he’s eaten nothing all day and is currently trying to sleep in a bedroom without a door. More on that later.

We had confirmation that our checked bags were on the flight and then Mr PHL and I had to give up our carry on bags to be checked as the flight was full - just as well I had several pockets to stuff the things that couldn’t go in the hood!

Flight was uneventful and Mr PHL got some sleep, turned out our bags actually made the 10pm flight last night but were waiting for us at the carousel, phew! Car hire pickup was smooth and I was cleared to drive without showing my license as spouses are automatically included on the paperwork. Who knew? I drove us from the airport to the villa and it went quite smoothly.

The villa is lovely but we were no sooner in than Mr PHL had to retire to bed. Susan and I hit the supermarket and stocked up on drinks and snacks including saltines and ginger ale. We got back and had a bite of lunch before unpacking and getting showered. So nice to put on clean clothes!

We headed off to Magic Kingdom and boy was it hit. We didn’t stay more than a couple of hours, just long enough to walk round the park and check out the wait times, take in the Monsters Inc laugh in attraction, Let Susan buy her Mickey Mouse ears, catch the parade and have some photos taken in front of Cinderella’s castle. Headed back to the villa, missed the turn off and eventually got back on the right road and back to the villa where we collapsed by the pool with a cold beer.

Ordered in pizza which was tasty but then had a fraught 90 minutes as the bedroom door stick and wouldn’t open with Mr PHL on one side and me on the other. No response from the management company (working hours M-F, 9-5!!) so we tried the neighbours and luckily one came to the rescue and turned up with a bucket full of tools, taking the doorknob off had no effect but he managed to pass a tool through the gap to Mr PHL who popped the pins in the hinges and the neighbour was able to knock the door off the hinges. Lovely man who refused payment but we’ll pick up some flowers for his wife tomorrow.

Sitting with a glass of wine to relax after our shenanigans! Will need to get hold of the management company to rehang the door on Monday I guess?

Planning a pool day tomorrow and a trip to the chemist to pick up some more supplies fir Mr PHL. I hope he’s on the mend in the morning, poor thing. It’s rubbish being Ill away from home.
